Lyme Disease

Description
Lyme disease is a complex, multi-system illness most commonly caused by a tick bite that transmits the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi. But in many cases, it's not just a single infection. Ticks often carry and transmit other organisms at the same time, including Babesia (a malaria-like parasite), Bartonella (a bacteria that affects the nervous system), and others like Ehrlichia or Mycoplasma. These are called co-infections, and they can make symptoms more intense, persistent, and varied — including fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, anxiety, and sleep issues. Because of this, we often refer to it as “Lyme complex,” and treatment focuses not just on the infection itself, but also on supporting the immune system, detox pathways, and overall healing.
